Fundraiser

“What Will I Be When You Grow Up?” – Geoff Hoyle – A Fundraiser for the Dance Palace – IN PERSON & Livestream

November 18, 2021 by Chris Grace

December 11, 2021 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm PST

All attendees must show proof of vaccination to be admitted; masks are required in the venue. PRESALE ONLY; no door tickets available.

In his latest piece of solo foolery, “What Will I Be When You Grow Up?” comic actor and grandfather Geoff Hoyle ponders his “legacy” and vast “worldly wisdom.” And how you pass on the best bits…

Since he couldn’t perform it live, he’s made it into a film… 29 characters, costumes, special effects…!

The Dance Palace hosts a benefit screening to a limited live audience on Saturday, Dec. 11th, 7 pm, in the Main Hall, with simultaneous online streaming. The screening is followed by an in person Q & A with Geoff Hoyle and director David Ford, moderated by the Dance Palace’s Art Committee Chair Carlos Porrata.

Ticket Options:

  • –Live Audience: $20 per person, and your ticket includes a special intermission dessert & beverages. Proof of vaccination and mask required. Contact tracing sign-in sheets will be utilized at this event.
  • –Streaming: $15 per device. Streaming viewers get to visit their own fridge at intermission, with no line for the bathroom…

80 minutes, with a short intermission; recommended for ages 15 and up.

PRESALE ONLY; NO TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR.

Sales for streaming option end 30 minutes before the start of the performance.

All proceeds benefit the Dance Palace

About Geoff Hoyle

Bay Area comic actor Geoff Hoyle (Pickle Family Circus, “The Lion King”) last appeared live in Point Reyes Station as Scrooge in a staged reading of “A Christmas Carol” at Toby’s Feedbarn. Before that, West Marin audiences saw him as Touchstone in Inverness Outdoor Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” Grumio in “The Taming of The Shrew,” and Malvolio in “Twelfth Night.” Past appearances at The Dance Palace include his solo shows “Feast of Fools,” “Geezer,” and “Lear’s Shadow.” He has performed at Berkeley Rep, ACT, Stanford Summer Theater, on and off-Broadway, and at many venues throughout the US and across the world.

An Evening with George Winston – LIVESTREAM – Fundraiser for the Dance Palace

October 30, 2020 by Chris Grace

November 8, 2020 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

An evening with celebrated solo pianist George Winston ONLINE on Sunday, November 8th, at 4 PM PST in support of The Dance Palace, a non-profit community center in Point Reyes, CA. The concert will only be able to view live during the stream and will not be recorded.

RSVP for the livestream at https://youtu.be/V2B_QVLUSF0

George Winston is undeniably a household name. He’s inspired fans and musicians alike with his singular solo acoustic piano songs for more than 40 years while selling 15 million albums. A tireless road warrior playing nearly 100 concerts annually, live performance for Winston is akin to breathing. Winston’s music is evocative, offering us all a chance to take a step back from our perpetually busy lives and let our minds adventurously wander.

George Winston’s classic albums, Autumn and December, are perennial favorites, along with Winter into Spring, Summer, 2017’s Spring Carousel – A Cancer Research Benefit, as well as two volumes of the compositions of Vince Guaraldi, two volumes of benefit albums for the Gulf Coast disasters, and six other solo piano albums. He recently released his 15th solo piano album, Restless Wind, via Dancing Cat Records/RCA Records. Restless Wind is a portrayal of Winston’s place in a chaotic world – his compositions extend solace with an idiosyncratic grace. The album is available now at GeorgeWinston.com

Tune in LIVE via YouTube on Sunday, November 8, starting at 4:00pm PST – You can watch this concert live; it will not be recorded or re-aired.

RSVP for the livestream at https://youtu.be/V2B_QVLUSF0 and then tune in on November 8 to see this fundraiser concert.  This concert will air live only–you don’t want to miss it!

DP Kids Musical Theater Presents: The Show Must Go Online!

June 1, 2020 by Chris Grace

June 7, 2020 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm PDT

The Dance Palace Kids Musical Theater presents:

The Show Must Go Online!

A Virtual Musical presented through special arrangement with Beat by Beat Press

Directed by Melissa Claire, with a cast of West Marin kids

Please support West Marin’s young actors as they share the hilarious story of a group of passionate students desperate to keep their annual musical alive…online!

There is no cost for the show, but donations to the Dance Palace are gratefully accepted. You can donate any amount online at:

https://dancepalace.org/donate-now/

At 5pm, join Director Melissa Claire, Host Amanda Eichstaedt, and the kids of KMT as they strut the red carpet (virtually, of course, from the safety of their homes). Amanda and Melissa will talk with the kids about their experience of creating an online musical and what they’ve been up to since they had to transition to doing school, theater, and, well–everything–from home.

And then at 5:40pm, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: The world premiere of KMT’s production of “The Show Must Go Online!” The 20 minute musical was recorded in advance–each actor recording at their home–and edited into a musical movie production. We are so excited to see everyone together onsceen for the premiere!

The link for the show will be live on Sunday, June 7th at 5pm PDT. Red Carpet begins at 5pm; the show will premiere at 5:40pm on YouTube. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxK7cvp46jjztqVVKP4uO_Q)

Please email info@dancepalace.org with any questions.

Thank you for supporting Kids Musical Theater and the Dance Palace Community & Cultural Center!
