The Mitten, A Christmas Performance for Families and Little OnesThe Dance Palace Presents a live, in-person workshop series followed by two performances of “The Mitten” starring your children 5-8 years old.
In this beloved and classic Christmas story, a little boy loses his mitten in a forest in the snow during a cold winter. One by one, various animals come and settle inside the mitten planning to stay warm. Eventually, the mitten can no longer hold anyone else then….?
“The Mitten” is originally a Ukrainian folk tale but has been translated into many different language and loved by children worldwide. This performance will be directed by Erika Hara and Rebecca Martin. Rehearsal will be a time of play, instruction, and creativity. We will gather local artists to create costumes and build a set. Some volunteer time and materials will be requested of the parents such as easy sewing, gathering of items and pre/post performance bake sale. Please let us know if you have particular expertise and would like to offer your help!The rehearsals will be on Wednesday from 4-5pm, November 1st-December 6th (no rehearsal Nov. 22nd) in The Church Space at The Dance Palace.
Attending the rehearsals is a requirement to be in the performance.
Children will be dropped off at rehearsals and picked up at the end of rehearsal.
The performance will be Saturday and Sunday, December 9th and December 10th at 3pm in The Church Space at The Dance Palace. Enrollment will be capped at 12 kids. Registration is required to participate.

The Mitten, una actuación navideña para familias y pequeños The Dance Palace presenta una serie de talleres presenciales en vivo seguida de dos presentaciones de “The Mitten” protagonizadas por sus hijos de 5 a 8 años.
En esta querida y clásica historia navideña, un niño pequeño pierde su manopla en un bosque en la nieve durante un frío invierno. Uno a uno, varios animales van y vienen y se instalan dentro de la manopla para mantenerse abrigados. Al final, ¿la manopla ya no puede sujetar a nadie más…?
“The Mitten” es originalmente un cuento popular ucraniano, pero ha sido traducido a muchos idiomas diferentes y es amado por niños de todo el mundo. Esta actuación será dirigida por Erika Hara y Rebecca Martin. El ensayo será un momento de juego, instrucción y creatividad. reunirá a artistas locales para crear disfraces y construir un escenario. Se solicitará algo de tiempo voluntario y materiales a los padres, como costura fácil, recolección de artículos y venta de pasteles antes y después de la presentación. Por favor, infórmenos si tiene experiencia particular y desearía ¡Me gustaría ofrecer su ayuda! Los ensayos serán el miércoles de 4 a 5 p. m., del 1 de noviembre al 6 de diciembre (no habrá ensayo el 22 de noviembre) en The Church Space en The Dance Palace.
La asistencia a los ensayos es requisito para estar en la función.
Los niños serán dejados en los ensayos y recogidos al final del ensayo.
