Point Reyes Books Presents: Jesse Nathan, Karen Solie, and Forrest Gander

We celebrate local poet Jesse Nathan’s new collection, Eggtooth (Unbound Edition Press). with readings by award-winning poets Karen Solie and Forrest Gander.

About the poets
Jesse Nathan was raised in northern California and rural Kansas. He was a founding editor of the McSweeney’s Poetry Series, and teaches in the English Department at UC Berkeley. His poems have appeared in the Paris Review, the New York Review of Books, and the Nation, among others. He’s been the recipient of fellowships from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Bread Loaf, the Arts Research Center at UC Berkeley, and the Ashbery Home School. Eggtooth is his first book.

Karen Solie was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Her collections include Short Haul Engine, Modern and Normal, Pigeon, and The Living Option. She has received the Griffin Poetry Prize, the Pat Lowther Award, and the Trillium Book Award for Poetry. The Living Option was named one of the best poetry books of 2013 by the National Post (Toronto) and The Independent (London). Solie lives in Toronto, Canada.

Forrest Gander was born in the Mojave Desert and lives in California. He taught at Harvard University and Brown University. Gander is a translator and the author of many books of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. He has received a Pulitzer Prize, the Best Translated Book Award, and fellowships from the Library of Congress, the Guggenheim, Whiting, and United States Artists Foundations.
