As events on a scale not encountered since Richard Nixon’s downfall unfold in today’s Washington, what could be more insightful in these fraught times than to take a good, up-close look at how the Supreme Court works, especially in the context of how the justices handled the landmark decisions of the “Warren Court” era?
In this course, Bill O’Connor, JD will focus on the landmark Supreme Court decisions from the ‘Warren Court” e.g,: cases on abortion, school prayer, freedom of the press, and the right to counsel, using recordings of actual oral arguments. He will also cover the inner procedures of the Supreme Court, how cases move to final opinions.
