This month in the Lobby Art Gallery we present new paintings of Point Reyes and beyond by painter/author Mimi Robinson.
Mimi Robinson works in a variety of media with a specialty in watercolor. The coastal light and forest habitats in West Marin strongly influence her work. Her painting practice is a response to place and memory; the changing colors of flora and fauna, the weather and the changing light through days and seasons. For her, painting is a way of expressing reverence for the natural world. She is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. Her popular book, Local Color: Seeing Place Through Watercolor, published by Princeton Architectural Press, (2015), is an invitation to sharpen our powers of observation and hone our color perception in our daily lives. Mimi offers a variety of workshops in her Point Reyes studio for all levels of experience.
