OUR PICTURES: A FESTIVAL OF CHILDREN’S ART   
West Marin School students will display their artwork during this annual art exhibit. The work represents a sampling of work using mixed media done in art classes taught by Colleen Conley at West Marin School.Exhibit on display at the Dance Palace May 28–June 1

SAN FRANCISCO STRINGS
Musicians from the San Francisco Symphony present a recital in the round of chamber music. Many of the musicians are Julliard-trained and they are ready to perform a spectacular program only for West Marin. What a perfect way to spend a Sunday evening!  All proceeds benefit the Inverness Garden Club, including the Scholarship Fund and the Community Projects Committee.

GARDEN LECTURE AND DEMONSTRATION SERIES
Real Local: Plant propogation, seed saving, and plant genetics. Steve Quirt, Organic & Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator UC Extension/Marin County will talk about the advantages of developing seed banks and
genetically adapting crops to local conditions.

SYNCHRONY IN MOTION DANCERS 
Synchrony in Motion Dancers delight in introducing people to the many styles and variations of Ballroom and Latin Dance. They have performed throughout the Bay Area at fairs, festivals, and community events including Cal Expo, Alameda County Fair, and the Lodi Grape Festival.

YOUTH MURAL PROJECT
The Palestinian town of Jayyous, wearied by the ugliness of graffiti and stenciled images of martyrs holding AK47s blighting their walls, wishes to convey a different message while engaging their under-employed youth in constructive activity. They are collaborating with Precita Eyes, a group from the San Francisco Mission, in beautifying their walls with murals.  Learn more about it and how to become involved.

WESTERN WEEKEND DANCE WITH JENNY KERR
Kick up your heels at the coronation dance honoring the Western Weekend Queen and her court.  Music will be by Jenny Kerr, one of Northern California’s most exciting country acts. West Marin Lions Club and the Dance Palace are co-sponsors of this welcome addition to Western Weekend’s family fun.

SOLO GUITARIST GLENN STALLER
Enjoy a performance of regional music from such areas of the world as Spain, Brazil, and Argentina, including works by Murcia, Sor, Albeniz, Tarrega, de Falla, Powell, Morel, Pernambuco, Piazzolla, and Pereira. Glenn began his professional musical career at the age of 14 and has studied with outstanding mentors and instructors such as Rey de La Torre, Dusan Bogdanovic, Julian White, and Bill Tapia.

DANCE PALACE THEATER GROUP PRESENTS: IDA, IDA (DID YOU LOOK IN THE FRIDGE?)
The Dance Palace Theatre Group takes to the stage again, this time with an evening of comedy focusing on leading roles for women. Local actors explore what it is to be female and funny in a selection of one act plays, monologues and songs. Directed by Tina Taylor, with musical direction by Laura Alderdice.

PA BOBO JOBARTE
One of Gambia's foremost musical artists: a kora player, singer, bard, and a "Jali" of the Mandinka people. According to the Rough Guide to World Music, he spearheaded a "revival in Mandinka music,
a relentless tumbling dance music."

NATURAL RHYTHMS: A CD CELEBRATION
Terry Garthwaite and Becky Reardon celebrate the release of their new CD, Natural Rhythms, at the Dance Palace on Saturday, June 21. They will be singing spirited songs with melodic twists and impelling pulse from their new CD, with a sprinkling of jazz. Special guests—students of rhiannon’s vocal jazz workshop-- will be joining them for an impromptu jam. Watch what happens.

ALTAR'D STATES
In a performance of physical theater created entirely in the moment -- Action Theater -- Claire Peaslee (and friends) observe the summer solstice by exploring improvisation! This journey into the realm of surprise starts early and ends well before mid-summer sunset. Audience members are invited to bring a seasonal spirit object to place on a small (temporary) altar for this pagan holiday.
